Today sadly saw the return of Shania though no fault of hers, her carer has had a change of circumstance and is now unable to keep her. She is a lovely mare and has made friends with Bella and Storm. If we can find a part sharer for her we will keep her in to save her having to be moved yet again. I always feel we have let horses down when they come back to us we really do want homes for the rest of the horses life, but I do understand that people’s lives do change.

Heather came to give us instruction on our natural horsemanship, and she brought a friend who is looking for a small horse on loan, and what an amazing woman she was and when we find the right horse for her I know he/she is going to have an amazing life with her. Debbie Longlegs one of our old owners who has now become a strong supporter of the work the sanctuary does has been down this week from London and a few of us met up to have our Tarot cards read for us, we had a wonderful evening with a lot of emotions throughout. Thank you Debbie for everything

Heather has once again been out to do some work with us this time at our Plympton grazing , today we did a little work with Zaitoon our new TB and this went very well and I was amazed at how he reacted to the natural horsemanship. I have a real soft spot for this boy and hope he can find a wonderful home soon.

Today we have been joined by rescue number 54 a beautiful x racehorse called Zaitoon which I am told means Olive branch , Peace and Freedom, what a wonderful name for a beautiful horse . He apparently has had a very successful racing life and has won over £50,000 in price money, he may find our very natural way of life a little hard to start with after having such a structured life. He has settled in really well and was very gentle with the other horses. When we back latter to check them all of them where grazing together as if they had been together always.

Heather came out today to work her magic with us. I am having lessons with my own mare Hinnie who is a very nervous horse and I believe had a really hard start in life, I have been very protective of her, and have always gone alone the path of not doing something that she would worry about, Heather has made me realize that instead of showing her that the world is not as scary as she thinks by working with her fears, I have confirmed to her that she is right to be afraid, I feel so disappointed in myself for doing this to her and hate myself for my ignorance.
