January :

New Horse in this month is Fayze , a beautiful Arab, who was bought to breed from but sadly she can not carry a foal so she has come to us. She has such a wonderful nature, we have brought her back into work and she has really taken to it, we already have two lovely ladies who have fallen in love with her, and they are going to come out a few more times to make sure that they feel the same and if all the checks are ok hopefully Fayze can go to start a new wonderful life.

This month  I met an extraordinary woman who has dedicated her life to saving the lives of donkeys and ponies, she has failing health and still gives the best attention she can to all her animals. Its rare to meet a person with the single mindedness of her, she has struggled on her own or with limited help from others and I feel has been taken advantage of by some. She has worked with another Sanctuary to build trust and bonds with the most difficult ponies and then selflessly given them back to enable them to find a home with new carer’s, and all this has been done with no financial help or reward. This wonderful lady needs help now to re-home some of her donkeys and ponies who are young enough to start a new life, we will be helping with this and I will posting some photos on the website very soon.  It is my hope than we can work with Lyn to not only find great homes for her beloved donkeys and ponies but to maybe help her with the ones she has left.

Its been a very wet month and we are up to our armpits in mud, with all the fields open we have sacrificed one field to feed the haylage in. Justin from Whitehouse Farm our wonderful Haylage supplier  is going to do the repair work in the spring but we really do need to find extra grazing to enable us to rest our own.
