06th march has been such an amazing day, I cant explain the feeling of happiness inside and it all started as such a normal day.

Bridget Skinner our wonderful back lady was due out to give our horses backs there 1st mot of the year. We had got all 18 horses in and we thought for safety reasons we would move Ollie our little pony who is so traumatised he can not be handled or restrained, to a stable on his own. While in there Sharon thought she would do some bonding work with him and to our utter surprise he not only let her stroke his neck and body , but also let her groom him, we can not explain how utterly proud of him we am, to let a human anywhere near him is amazing to let them touch him is a miracle. We genuinely believe we have turned a corner with this little man and all honestly believe that it has to do with the work that the wonderful Madeline Walker has been doing with him.

Bridget checked all the backs and worked on 9 of the horses. Hopefully we can now get on with re-homing the ones that can go out and loan.

This month Sam, Laura and Sharon did a talk about the sanctuary to the M and S, retirement club. Sharon was a wreck and had been feeling sick for days. But after a half a bottle of rescue remedy she did get through it , but admited was not in a rush to do it again. But it was well worth doing as we have over £100 in donations given to us. A huge thank you to all the ladies at the club the money raised will pay for this weeks Farrier bill.

Easter saw the part sharers have a wonderful Easter ride, somehow Sharon (our Chairman) got pushed into going on this, first time she had rode in about 2 years, and all she could say was it was flipping painful!!!! It was a very pleasant ride though and we all came back to a feast of Easter eggs, this we are assured will help the diets!! One good thing is that Sharons 16 year old daughter Samantha who has been riding since she was 2 can no longer tell everyone that she has never ridden out with her mum!!!.

The end of March has been very busy with serveral people up to see different horses, but none have been a suitable match, apart from 1. Our beautiful Joey has found a perfect home, with a lovely lady who wants to hack and love a horse , it was a match made in heaven and he will be thoroughly spoilt. We wish them both the best of luck and many many years together.

We have been Joined by Shania a beautiful coloured mare who has come in with bone spavin. She has a beautiful nature but I do feel that something is not right with her. We will ask the wonderful Madeline Walker to come and do some work with her and see if she can tell us more.
